Kelly Readman BIO

As a life time dog lover I started my dog path in the early 1990’s in Junior Handling. As the Grandson of Tom Quilley, an all-Breed Judge with the CKC for 48 years this path seemed a natural one for me. I became active training in obedience and protection in the late 1990’s with my beloved Rottweiler, learning to “decoy” at that time for personal protection and security dogs. In 2009 I found “dogsport” and haven’t looked back since. Starting with an “off breed” my American Bulldog I soon found helper work to be my calling, sort to speak. From my first “certification” in 2011 I have been a helper in many Club level trials and Championships through Canada, Poland, Mexico and Finland. 2019 was my best year to date being selected in 3 different countries for Championships. In 2018 I graduated from Finland’s SPL helper Program as a training helper and competition helper the first in North America to date. As a part of this helper program I would like to bring my experience from Club level to major championships to build a strong group of Competition helpers who excel on the trial field. I’m a strong believer in being able to practice what I preach and love to share knowledge giving the organizations helpers everything possible to reach the highest levels. Building a solid team of helpers will take time but the goal will always be to have just that a TEAM of helpers willing and able to step on the competition field with Judges and Competitors for the love of Our Sport in a fair and consistent manner no matter the venue.
